I can imagine how my own heart may have felt and how disgusted it may have felt to be there, but then again I don’t know if I would have because how could I fathom it without His stripes? Anyway, I think when He was on the cross He saw all of those in the crowd as this beautiful meadow of growth and radiance and saw it was all worth the cost. That his stripes were necessary. I’m in awe.
