'Lowkey Killin' It' Print
8x10 in print of the piece that is responsible for all the marketing for the solo exhibition of my Postpartum Garden. I kept this piece to myself and didn’t allow it to be purchased.
I still remember painting this one. I got on instagram live one night after finally getting Maverick to bed. I just wanted some sort of social interaction and to release some creative juices. It all unfolded on a piece of loose scrap canvas I had hoarded since 2020. It had random scribbles from all corners of my last five years and I layered a garden on top of it all. Unfamiliar with the woman I am and hoping to figure out a snippet of her with each brush stroke. Doubting myself as a mother and artist in that moment only to turn off my live video that evening with a sleeping baby upstairs ans realize…I’m lowkey killin’ it.
